Collection: GeoSmart Magnetic Construction Toys for Kids

Geomagnetic construction

Snap the shapes together and the structure holds

GeoSmart magnetic building toys are a construction system built from solid geometric pieces: squares, triangles, isosceles triangles, rectangles, trapezoids, pentagons, diamonds and hexagons, each one with magnets sealed inside the edges. Because the magnets sit in every edge, a piece grips its neighbour from any side, so children build upward and outward in three dimensions rather than laying flat panels side by side.

The range is designed for children from 5 years old. Parents shopping for GeoSmart toys in the UAE usually arrive here after a child has outgrown simple stacking blocks and wants something that moves, lights up, or holds its shape when it is picked up. If you are still comparing formats, it helps to look at the wider construction toys range first and then come back to the sets listed above.

Three things that define a GeoSmart piece

A geometry set, not a tile set

Every set is a mix of named shapes, and the larger kits carry up to nine different geomagnetic shapes. Children learn the vocabulary as they build: trapezoid, isosceles triangle, hexagon.

A patented double safety system

The magnet sits under a stainless steel cap locked onto an ABS core, and that core is wrapped in double polycarbonate housing. It is the reason the brand is trusted in classrooms as well as living rooms.

Every set works with every other set

GeoSmart sets are compatible with one another. A 25 piece starter kit and a motorised vehicle set become one larger pool of parts, which is why the range grows well as a birthday and Eid gift line.

Learning value

What a child is actually practising while building

GeoSmart sits squarely in the hands-on end of STEM toys, and the learning is not bolted on. A structure only stands if the geometry works, so the feedback is immediate and the child corrects the design without an adult stepping in.

  • Spatial reasoning: turning flat shapes into stable 3D forms
  • Early engineering: testing which triangle arrangement carries weight
  • Hands-on magnetism: discovering attraction, repulsion and polarity by feel
  • Fine motor control and hand-eye coordination, using both hands together
  • Persistence: a collapsed build is a problem to solve, not a failure
  • Shape vocabulary that maps directly onto primary school maths

Compare the GeoSmart construction sets

Set Pieces Level What children build
GeoSmart UFO 25 First set 12 squares, 10 triangles, 2 pentagons and 1 LED light. The pentagons give the domed UFO shape, and the light turns the finished build into a night-time toy.
GeoSmart Flip Bot 30 Step up A remote controlled build with rechargeable turbo motors that let the vehicle zoom, spin and flip over. First taste of motion for a child who has mastered static structures.
GeoSmart Mars Explorer 51 Confident builder Lights, track wheels, a motor and a remote control. Children design their own rovers and drive them, including in the dark.
GeoSmart Space Station 70 Ambitious 6 rectangles, 4 trapezoids, 36 squares, 8 isosceles triangles, 12 triangles, 2 LED panels and 2 spinners. Big enough for a full station plus side builds. Needs 2 AAA batteries, not included.
GeoSmart Educational Set Deluxe 205 Classroom Nine different geomagnetic shapes, 4 spinners, wheels, snap-in arms, panels, tube couplings and a 62 page multilevel challenge book. Built for nurseries, learning centres and homeschool groups.

Magnetic tiles or GeoSmart? The difference buyers miss

× Flat magnetic tiles
  • Magnets sit in the tile edges, so builds are mostly walls, boxes and simple pyramids.
  • Tall structures tend to sag or peel apart when lifted.
  • Shape variety is usually squares and triangles only.
  • Motion means adding a separate car base, if the brand offers one.
✓ GeoSmart geomagnetic pieces
  • Solid moulded pieces with magnets on every edge, so joints hold under their own weight.
  • Finished builds can be picked up and carried without falling apart.
  • Up to nine shapes, including trapezoids, pentagons, hexagons and diamonds.
  • Motors, track wheels, spinners, LED panels and remote controls are part of the system.

Neither format is wrong, they simply reward different play. If your child is happiest laying out floor plans and building houses, a flat tile system is the better fit. If the goal is machines, vehicles, spheres and towers that survive being carried into another room, GeoSmart is the one to buy.

Choosing by age

1

Under 5

GeoSmart is not recommended below 5, and the packaging carries a small parts warning for under 3s. Younger builders are better served by SmartMax, which uses oversized bars and balls that cannot be swallowed.

2

Ages 5 to 7

Start with a 25 to 30 piece set. Enough parts to finish the box model, few enough that clearing up is quick and the child does not lose interest halfway.

3

Ages 7 to 10

This is where the motorised and lit sets land well. Remote control, track wheels and LED panels keep a build interesting after the model on the box is done.

4

Schools and groups

The 205 piece Educational Set Deluxe with its 62 page challenge book is sized for a table of children rather than one, and sits alongside the rest of our educational toys for nurseries and learning centres.

GeoSmart questions we get asked

What age are GeoSmart toys suitable for?

GeoSmart is designed for children from 5 years old. The packaging carries a warning against use by children under 36 months because the sets contain small parts and strong magnets. Between 5 and 7 a starter set of 25 to 30 pieces is usually the right size, and older children handle the 70 piece and larger kits comfortably.

How is GeoSmart different from magnetic tiles?

Magnetic tiles are flat panels that join edge to edge, which suits walls, boxes and floor plans. GeoSmart pieces are solid moulded shapes with magnets in every edge, so joints hold under load and a finished model can be lifted and carried. GeoSmart also brings in motors, track wheels, spinners, LED panels and remote controls, which flat tile systems generally do not.

Are the magnets safe?

GeoSmart uses a patented double safety system. A stainless steel cap covers the magnet and locks onto an ABS core, and that core is enclosed in double polycarbonate housing. It is one of the more thoroughly engineered answers to loose magnets in the category. As with any magnetic toy, keep sets away from children under 3 and seek medical attention immediately if a magnet is ever swallowed.

Can I combine different GeoSmart sets?

Yes. All GeoSmart sets are compatible with one another. Buying a small set first and adding a motorised kit later gives you one bigger pool of shapes rather than two separate toys, which is why the range works well as a gift line across several birthdays.

Which set should I buy first?

For a first GeoSmart purchase, the 25 piece UFO set is the easiest entry: it has pentagons and an LED light, so the finished model looks impressive without needing many parts. If the child already builds confidently with other systems, start at 51 or 70 pieces so there is room to go beyond the model on the box.

Do the motorised sets need batteries?

It varies by set. The Space Station uses 2 AAA batteries, which are not included in the box. The Flip Bot runs on rechargeable turbo motors. Check the individual product page for the set you are considering before you order, and add batteries to the same order if you want the toy ready on the day it arrives.

How quickly will my order arrive in Dubai?

Orders are dispatched within 24 hours and typically arrive within 2 to 4 business days anywhere in the UAE, sometimes faster in Dubai depending on your area. Deliveries to other GCC countries take 7 to 14 business days. Cash on delivery is available within the UAE subject to location.

Can I return a GeoSmart set if it is the wrong choice?

Unopened sets in original condition and packaging can be returned within 7 working days from the date you receive them. Email us to arrange it. The cost of returning the item is borne by the customer, so if you are unsure which size to pick, ask us first and we will point you at the right one.

Still deciding on the right set?

Tell us the child's age and what they already build with, and we will suggest the GeoSmart set that will actually get used. We do the same for schools and nurseries buying in volume.
